Severfield-Reeve is involved in the design and build of a wide range of structures, ie multi-storey frames, exhibition and sports centres, and large single storey buildings.

Many of the examples in our projects listing illustrate our ability to innovate through an in-depth understanding of the clients' needs.

The design staff of qualified and experienced engineers have the latest 'state-of-the-art' computer software for 2D and 3D analysis modelling and design at their disposal. Choice of sections (including plated sections), methods of manufacture and erection are considered to ensure that the final design is not only the most economical but can also be erected quickly and safely.

A further key consideration is designing for "buildability", not only for the steel structure but also with consideration for all other trades engaged in the project.

A proportion of our work is designed by the clients' engineer but with the connection design by ourselves. 'Value Engineering', where we attempt to enhance the design via our practical experience, may be applied to these projects provided we can be involved with the design team at an early stage.

Advice and comments on material choice costs, fabrication, erection techniques, fire protection and surface treatment, etc can sometimes lead to significant savings. Our design effort is targeting efficiency in conjunction with reduced weight, lower costs and faster programmes.
